J. Stephen Lauck joined Ashfield in 1984 and is Board Chairman of Ashfield’s Board of Managers and Portfolio Manager. Steve oversees the firm’s investment strategies.
Steve previously served as Vice President at BA Investment Management (San Francisco), where he managed large pension plans. Prior to that, he was head of Bank of America’s Capital Counseling Services in Los Angeles and managed accounts for individuals as well as selected pension and profit sharing plans. Steve’s investment career began in 1969 with Dean Witter Reynolds, Inc. in Los Angeles.
Steve holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. He earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Arkansas and an MBA from the University of Southern California. From 1967 to 1969, Steve served as an officer in the United States Navy. He is currently a member of the Dean’s Advisory Board of the Sam M. Walton College of Business of the University of Arkansas.
